How to Quickly Remove Rust From Large Items Such As Patio Furniture And Gardening Tools

Household items that are severely rusted such as cast iron patio furniture or lawn ornaments can be cleaned and reused. That very old cast iron frying pan or stew pot can be cleaned inside and out right down to the bare metal using this product in preparation to being restored.

Naval jelly is commercially referred to by general names such as rust killer and rust remover. The chemical name this product is “orthophosphoric acid.” Phosphoric(V) Acid (Naval Jelly) is quite corrosive and will quickly burn your skin on contact so always wear rubber gloves, eye protection and splash-wear (rubberized apron, etc.) including foot guards to direct any spill away from your skin when using this product. Be sure to only use it outdoors in fresh air or in an open-air shop (garage door up, etc.)

Avoid using this product in any confined space or around any ignition sources such as natural gas hot water heaters or clothes dryers, any source of open flame or heat source (electric floor heaters, etc.) And not least of all, no smoking near where the product is being used.

Using Naval Jelly for Heavy Rust Removal

Removing as much heavy rust as you can with a wire brush is the first step. Using naval jelly will greatly aid your cleaning and de-rusting efforts if the heaviest, loose flakes are scraped away first

Wearing protective gear, apply the naval jelly product directly to the surface to be cleaned. The product usually includes an applicator spatula for this purpose. If there are remaining rusted areas, a second treatment can be used again, maintaining the 5-10 minute maximum time. Do not use this product on painted surfaces for it will quite effectively remove the paint. This product should not be used on stainless steel either.

Naval Jelly and Automotive Body Repair

The treated iron will have a dark black color similar to what happens when cleaned metals are ‘pickled’ such as in the ‘bluing’ on shotgun and rifle barrels. There, after pickling the metals are coated with fine machine oils to prevent rust from forming. In the case of lawn furniture and ornaments, primer and all-weather paints would be used. The naval jelly if applied effectively and thoroughly will have removed all oxidation in the metal and thus no rust should re-form under the painted or sealed surface.

The objective is to enhance community-based and home-based long-term care for the current 7.6 million elderly adults who need it and for the estimated one-fifth of the U.S. population that will need it, as the “baby boomers” age, by 2030.

Current home-care workers are usually underpaid, often subject to bad working conditions, are barred from organizing unless states give a sort of permission by setting up “employers” with whom they can negotiate and – thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court several years ago – don’t even qualify for the minimum wage or overtime.

“The CAG campaign will help baby boomers and their families meet care needs by realizing the ‘five fingers of the caring hand,’ including: Creation of new, quality jobs in home care, labor standards and improved job quality for existing jobs and new jobs, training and career ladders for home care workers, a new visa category and path to citizenship for care workers and support for individuals and families in need of support and care, including the creation of a matching registry and maintenance and expansion of funding streams,” the group said in its mission statement.

One of those funding streams may be the federal government, as CAG is telling Congress that home care is much less expensive, much more healthy and much more psychologically healthy for the elderly than nursing-home or other institutional care.

“Now is the time to invest in home care. It will save money, help people to stay healthy longer, protect consumer choice, support working families, and ensure that a stable workforce of well-trained caregivers serves our seniors,” the group said.

It’ll also create jobs: CAG estimates that to deal with the growing number of senior citizens – one “Baby Boomer” is now turning 65 every several minutes – the U.S. will need 2 million more paid caregivers by 2016.

History is more than a collection of names and facts from the past; it is a journal of wisdom that we can use to guide ourselves and even predict the future. It is no coincidence that when totalitarian regimes come to power, one of the first things they do is obliterate history and replace it with their own version of events.

The official rendition of history, whether accurate or not, can effect the way a nation views itself. It can create a sense of pride and superiority or one of self-deprecating defeat. Through the lies and distortions that are an integral part of any war, there is a story that is woven and eventually set down as historical fact. But, “the truth” is one of the spoils of war; the victor obtains the right to tell history from it’s point of view. Accuracy, is inevitably lost. Nonetheless, this history has an impact on the victor, the defeated and every other nation that has a relationship to them.

If people do not know the truth about history, they can be convinced of nearly anything. Take for instance the examples illustrated in post-apocalyptic literature like Aldous Huxley’s “A Brave New World,” or William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson’s “Logan’s Run.” History has been forgotten and replaced with a few vague notions about a quaint past, commonly accepted by the people. What is characteristic of these utopian representations is that the people look neither to the past or think about the future. They are always victims of manipulative, despotic social structures.

There is immense power in knowing one’s personal history or genealogy. Having a family history gives us a personal relationship with historical events. This can render a sense of possession of history. And it gives us a sense of our own place in the world, our relationship to others and the importance of other people’s history – other people’s place in our world. It fosters respect for ourselves and others. We are all part of a rich tapestry of events.

The power derived from understanding history is one of knowledge. If people understand history, they are less likely to be deceived. History is a continuum, not a cycle. It doesn’t have to repeat itself, although it often does because of human nature and human ignorance. Not by “learning history,” so much as by allowing ourselves to be students of history – to be instructed by it – we become empowered.

In today’s world, the way a person looks is very important. Good looking people get preference among others in all walks of life. One of the most important factors in looking good is being thin. The pressure of having to look thin leads to a number of eating disorders. These eating disorders are psychological disorders caused by the pressures of trying to have a good body image. Eating disorders include Anorexia, Bulimia, compulsive eating disorder and binge eating and they can be cured by eating disorder counseling.

Anorexia is an eating disorder in which patients, in an attempt to be very thin, deprive themselves of food. They either starve themselves or throw up whatever they eat. The disease is characterized by extreme weight loss. Bulimia is an eating disorder, in which people tend to consume large amounts of food in a short span of time, and then throw up whatever they have eaten. Compulsive eating disorder is a disorder in which a person is not able to control the amount of food that he/she eats. The person also eats throughout the day, in short intervals of time. They keep fantasizing about food and about eating alone. Binge eating disorder is similar to compulsive eating. The patient consumes large amounts of food. Therapy for an eating disorder is the solution by which these diseases can be eliminated.

Eating disorders can cause a number of health problems such as heart diseases, kidney damage, and damage to digestive system, severe dental problems, anxiety and depression. (1) Stop at your local craft store and pick up the following:

* Mulit colored tags. Generally these tags are small to medium in size.

* Stamps of the alphabet. Letter stamps are small medium or large. Pick up the small stamps.

* Ranger Ink pad in black.

* A small stamp. Whether it’s a flower, sea-shell, symbol, or a logo of your business.

* Ranger Ink pad in any color you want.

* Small price stickers.

(2) All of these items are inexpensive and you can make as many of them as you want. TIP: make tags in between when your doing your crafts or baking or firing clays.

(3) FOR PRICE TAGS. FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

* For the back of the tag, use a small stamp, and stamp as many tags as you want.

* For the front of the tag, use the letter stamps and black ink. Stamp the name of your business on the front of the tag.

* Use a small price sticker, and place a price for your artwork.

(4) FOR THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURCHASE TAGS. FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

* For the back of the tag, use a small stamp, and stamp as many tags as you want.
